COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A former Lexington County deputy has been charged with multiple counts of domestic violence, says SLED.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Joshua D. Jones, 33, with three counts of domestic violence, 3rd degree, and two counts of domestic violence, 2nd degree, on
Monday, June 24.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department says an internal investigation led to SLED being requested to investigate.

Jones is accused of causing physical harm to someone after a verbal argument happened.

SLED says Jones held down someone before he pushed the person against a linen closet door which caused the door to break and caused the victim to have bruising on both arms.

Investigators say the victim documented the injuries with photos from the May 26 incident and days after the incident.

The victim could be seen in the photos crying with visible redness and bruising staring to form near elbow on both arms, says SLED.

In another incident, Jones is accused of being in a verbal argument with a victim when he pushed the person to the ground and kicked them in the side while they was on the ground.

Then he proceeded to pick them up and went upstairs.

Agents say once he was upstairs, Jones punched the victim in the face with a closed fist which caused bruising on the victim’s arms and both eyes.

There were several other incidents according to an arrest warrant. He was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.
