Spotify launches new basic plan

(CNN)– Music streaming giant Spotify recently raised prices for its premium subscriptions. Now it’s launching a less expensive tier that doesn’t include audiobooks.

It’s called a “basic” premium plan, and it costs $10.99 a month.

That’s the same price as the standard plan, called “premium individual” use to cost before the price changes earlier this month.

That plan was raised a dollar to $11.99.

Spotify said at the time one of the reasons for the price hikes was new offerings, which included audiobooks.
