Firefighters control multiple home fire in Summitt neighborhood
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Tuesday morning, firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire that ripped through multiple homes in the Summitt neighborhood, says CRFD.
In the early morning hours of June 25, Columbia-Richland Fire Department, arrived to a fire scene on Gardenhill Drive shortly before 1 a.m.
CRFD says units arrived to the scene to find one property fully involved with fire which was quickly spreading through the house next door.
It prompted officers at the scene to call for a second alarm which dispatched more resources. The fire was brought under control and extinguished by crews.
Firefighters say two homes in the area were heavily damaged, one other home also suffered exposure damages due to the high heat.
Everyone in all of the properties involved escaped to safety and there were no reported injuries.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is looking into what caused the fire.
