Man charged after stabbing incident with 84-year-old aunt

27-year-old Karim Gaskins is charged with assault and battery and kidnapping after an incident with his 84-year-old aunt.

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Kershaw County deputies say a man who was stabbed by his elderly aunt last week has been arrested.
27-year-old Karim Gaskins is charged with assault and battery and kidnapping.
On June 19, investigators say they were originally told Gaskins was stabbed by his 84-year-old aunt who has Dementia on Baron Dekalb Road in Camden. And then she fled the scene on foot.
According to deputies, when they found her, she told a completely different story. She stated her nephew attacked her and she was forced to defend herself with knife.
The woman was found coming out of the woods with marks that appeared to look like fingers upon her neck and collarbone area, one Kershaw County deputy says.
He is being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center.
