Midlands player wins $50K lottery prize while shopping

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands woman spent $2 on a lottery ticket and took home $50,000 while on a shopping trip, said lottery officials.

The woman hit it big at Murphy Express #8629 at 3 Bay Lane in Camden.

“I thought it’s just $2, so I have nothing to lose,” she told lottery officials of her decision to play.

She also told them that she plans on saving her winnings.

“I was hoping I’d win, but not expecting it,” the lucky winner said.

Three more top prizes of $50,000 remain in the Jumbo Bucks game at odds of 1 in 600,000.
