Mobile outage for U.S. users overseas

(CNN)– A massive international roaming outage for three major U.S. mobile carriers is affecting American customers currently out of the country.

AT&T, T-mobile, and Verizon confirmed their U.S. customers traveling abroad are having issues making calls, sending messages, and using data.

According to Verizon, roughly 30% of its customers’ calls and data connections from overseas are not going through.

T-mobile described it as a third-party vendor issue and said they’re working with the vendor to resolve it.

Third-party communications providers Syniverse manages international roaming connections for various carriers.

They said connectivity issues began early on Thursday, June 27.
