Police departments helping community beat the heat

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Newberry Police Department is helping residents in the community beat the heat with their ‘Circulating the City’ program.

According to the police department, they have a limited amount of fans available to give out to the most vulnerable this Summer.

Elderly (60 plus), people with small children or have major illnesses/respiratory issues can contact the police department at 803-321-1010.

Also, City of Cayce police officers are helping out the community this Summer with its ‘Fan the Heat’ program.

The department says they still have fans available for anyone in need.

People can make arrangements to get a fan by emailing the Cayce Police Department Chief at chief@caycesc.gov.
