Tesla sales fall for the second straight quarter
(CNN)– More bad news for Tesla, the electric automaker’s sales took a hit for the second straight quarter.
Sales for the second quarter came in at nearly 444 thousand. That’s a 5% drop from a year ago.
It’s the first time Tesla has posted a consecutive year-over-year decline in the number of vehicles sold.
But sales were still stronger than some analysts predicted.
And it was enough to beat out Chinese automaker BYD to retain the lead position in global sales of purely electric vehicles.
