KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Kershaw County deputies are warning residents about a scam call that is happening in the county, said KCSO.

According to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s office has been receiving calls from residents who say people have been calling them claiming to be a deputy.

During the call, the residents were told they missed jury duty and that they must now pay $500-$600 by using Cash App and Venmo.

Kershaw County deputies say they will never ask for any payments over the phone and they do not use Cash App or Venmo.
