Most car dealers back online after big hack
(CNN)– Most car dealerships impacted by nearly two week-long software blackouts are back online.
The black out that knocked almost 15 thousand dealerships off-line occurred after two cyber incidents that targeted software company CDK Global.
The hack brought orders, sales, and tracking to a standstill at dealerships that rely on CDK.
But after many announcements and false starts, the company says operations are phasing back in ahead of schedule.
Analysts say dealerships could have lost millions of dollars more if the blackout had gone a full three weeks.
