Sumter PD searches for teenage girl missing since 2 a.m.

Sumter, SC (WOLO) — The Sumter Police Department is asking members of the public for help locating a young girl who has been missing since early Wednesday morning. Police are searching for 13 year old Ka’Niyah Baker who they say was reported missing by a relative after they say she left her home at Carolina Crossing around 2 a.m. without permission.

Authorities do not have many details and at this point have listed the teen as missing child and possible runaway. Since no one sae Baker when she left the home, a accurate clothing description could not be given. POlice say Baker is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds.
Police say it is sill unclear if Baker is walking or if she was able to get a ride after she left the home. Anyone who sees her is urged to contact the Sumter Police Department by calling (803)436-2700.
