Local Living: 4th of July at Fort Jackson, Fireworks with the Phil, Irmo’s July 4th celebration, Lexington County Animal Services’ adoption special

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can celebrate our nation’s birthday at Fort Jackson today, for fourth of July.

Gates are open at Fort Jackson’s Hilton Field and the fireworks start around 9 p.m.

You and the family can enjoy like music, carnival rides, food and beer trucks, and much more. It’s free and open to the public.

 

The Columbia Fireflies and the South Carolina Philharmonic will have their 4th annual Fireworks with the Phil event tonight, Thursday, July 4.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. at Segra Park and the show starts at 8 p.m.There will be food, drinks and a kids zone.

 

If you’re looking to celebrate the 4th of July without the fireworks, Irmo’s got you covered.

The inclusive Independence Day celebration is tonight, July 4, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Irmo Community Park.

You and the family can enjoy free hot dogs, live music, a laser light show, and much more. It’s free to attend.

The Lexington County Animal Services is having a 4th of July adoption special this week.

From now, July 4, until Saturday, July 6, adoption fees will be reduced to $10.

The fee will be waived for any pet that has been up for adoption for over 30 days.

All fees will be waived for active and retired military, limited to two per household.

The shelter is open on Friday, July 5, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

And Saturday, July 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Ball Park Road.
