Local Living: Pigskin Poets, First Sundays Comedy Show, Ride To End Alzheimer’s

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, don’t miss the 28th annual Pigskin Poets event.
The University of South Carolina football team will take a break from the field and tackle the stage with Richland Library.
The program emphasizes the importance of Summer reading for children of all ages.
It takes place next Friday, July 12, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Drew Wellness Center.
Get ready for a family friendly night of laughs. The First Sundays Comedy Show returns this Sunday at its new location on Diamond Lane.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Comedian Akintunde will host the event while DJ Geechie Man will bring the jams.
Comedians Small Fire and Tanya Lewis will bring the laughs on stage. There will be free wings as well.
The Alzheimer’s Association of South Carolina is hosting its 16th annual Ride To End Alzheimer’s event next week.
From July 12th to the 14th, more than 400 cyclists will travel across the Midlands and the Palmetto State to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and, support through the Alzheimer’s Association.
Officials say they have more than 832 thousand dollars raised of their 1.5 million dollar goal.
