Man arrested in connection with fatal 4th of July shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police Department have charged a 50-year-old man in connection to a 4th of July fatal shooting at an apartment complex, say officers.
Pedro Leon-Rodriguez is being charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
He is accused of a shooting that happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday at Garners Crossing Apartments located at 7651 Garners Ferry Road.
According to witnesses and information gathered by investigators, the shooting stemmed from a physical fight between Leon-Rodriguez and another man.
Leon-Rodriguez is at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where he was taken after being detained.
