SCDOT to temporarily close part of Mt. Bethel Garmany Road in Newberry County as part of I-26 Rehabilitation Project
NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Department of Transportation will temporarily close a portion of Mt. Bethel Garmany Road in Newberry County, said SCDOT.
The closure will begin on July 15 to raise the bridge over I-26 as part of the I-26 Rehabilitation Project and is expected to last until the end of August.
SCDOT said the bridge is being raised to allow better clearance for trucks and other large vehicles traveling on I-26.
During the closure, the portion of Mt. Bethel Garmany Road from the intersection of General Henderson Road to Short Cut Road will be open to local traffic only.
