BMW recalls 390K vehicles for airbag issues

(CNN)– BMW is recalling more than 390 thousand vehicles in the U.S. due to an airbag issue. The airbag inflators could explode in a crash.

The recall includes 2006 to 2012 model year BMW three series Sedans and Sports Wagons.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the vehicles may contain airbag inflators manufactured by Takata, which were recalled.

BMW says there have been no reports of accidents or injuries. BMW dealers will offer free replacements.
