New SC law changes child care employment requirements
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A new law that changes the requirements for child care employment goes into effect on Thursday, July 11.
Officials with the Department of Social Services say as of Thursday, July 11, anyone working in child-care must have a high school diploma or any equivalent recognized by the State School Board.
In addition, anyone wanting to work in child care must complete 15 hours of health and safety training and be directly supervised for 30 days.
