SCHP: 1 dead after tractor trailer hits tree

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a Monday night collision on an Orangeburg County highway, says SCHP.

According to highway patrol, the collision happened on Monday, July 15, around 6:10 p.m. on I-26 westbound at the 148 mile marker.

A 2013 freight liner tractor trailer was traveling west on I-26 when it went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
