CPD: Man plead guilty to woman’s Mother Day death

During his trial on Tuesday, July 16, 44-year-old Elijah Lindsay pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the death of 48-year-old Barbara Ann Dinkins.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say a man pled guilty for a woman’s death last year.

During his trial on Tuesday, July 16, 44-year-old Elijah Lindsay pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the death of 48-year-old Barbara Ann Dinkins.

According to investigators, on Mother’s Day 2023, they found Dinkins’ body inside an Orr Street home.

Police say the case was deemed as an isolated domestic-related incident.

Lindsay was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
