FDA, FTC issues warnings to companies selling copycat snacks with Delta-8 THC
(CNN)– Two regulatory agencies are cracking down on illegal sales of copycat food products containing Delta-8 THC.
On Tuesday, the FDA and the FTC issued warnings to companies that produce Delta-8 THC edibles.
The substance is a psychoactive cannabinoid made from the same plant type as marijuana.
Regulators say the packaging looks very similar to popular foods like Fruit Loops and Chips Ahoy.
The FDA says consumers may easily confuse these products leading to accidental ingestion particularly for children.
