Tom’s Creek Family Farms, City of Columbia teaming up to bring fresh fruits and veggies to Midlands food deserts

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Tom’s Creek Family Farms and the City of Columbia are teaming up to bring fresh fruits and veggies to Midlands food deserts.

But they’re not just supplying nutritious foods, they’re also teaching people in the Midlands on what goes into a healthy diet and how to provide balanced meals to their families.

Organizers ABC Columbia spoke with say a little education does a long way.

The Tom’s Family Farms Mobile Food Market accepts most all forms of payment including cash, cards, SNAP, healthy bucks, and senior farmers market vouchers.
