(CNN)– You have heard of knock-off handbags and shoes but what about fake cars?

Luxury automaker ‘Ferrari’ says it’s a problem and now the company is fighting back against knock-offs that it says threaten to deplete the brand’s value.

It’s lunched a program that rewards Ferrari loyalists who spot and report fakes of all sorts from cars and golf carts to Ferrari-branded kitchen appliances and other merchandise.
