Lexington Police continuing investigation into music promotor’s death

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– The Lexington Police Department is continuing its investigation into the death of a man killed outside his home in 2022, said LPD.

Chief Terrence Green is asking again for anyone with information into the death of Tyler Robinson to come forward and contact investigators.

Two years ago, Tyler Robinson was killed outside of his home at the Lauren Ridge Apartments.

Robinson who was also known as “T-Rob” and “T-Rob Smooth” was a music promotor, and co-founder and producer at Long Money Camp.

On July 9, 2022, around 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a call about a shooting at 500 Carlen Avenue when they found Robinson outside in the stairway of one of the apartment buildings, shot several times.

Lexington PD said officers provided aid until EMS arrived and took Robinson to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

During the investigation, detectives found evidence that several unknown people were involved in the shooting death of Robinson and attacked him moments after he arrived at
the apartment complex, which he had only been living at for several months before his death.

Law enforcement believes that the incident was planned and that Robinson was followed from a club in downtown Columbia.

After he was shot, he was also robbed of jewelry and a watch, said Lexington Police.

Also, his apartment was burglarized too.

“It’s been two years since Tyler Robinson was killed and I want to let his family, friends, and those involved in his death to know that our Criminal Investigations Division continues to follow up on new leads and that this is still a very active case. We won’t give up and we know that the right person will come forward with the information to bring justice to this homicide” Chief Green said.

Detectives are continuing to search for several pieces of custom jewelry and a watch that Tyler Robinson was believed to be wearing when he was killed, which include a gold necklace and
pendant with jewels with “Smooth” and “LMC”, two jeweled gold rings, one with “$” and the other with “LMC”, and a jeweled gold watch.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the homicide, the people involved, or the whereabouts of the missing jewelry and watch are asked to contact Detective Corporal Kenneth Heath at 803-358-1557 or kheath@lexsc.gov.
