COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Drivers may be responsible for getting a break at the pump. The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.50.
AAA says that’s down 4 cents from last week. In South Carolina, the average price for gas is $3.21 a gallon.
A spokesman says there’s a decreased demand for fuel and that may be because many travelers are avoiding road travel due to the recent scorching heat.
