“It’s terrific,” says Midlands Palmetto Cash 5 Jackpot Winner

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– After nearly winning the Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot once before, a Chapin lottery player has finally won, said SC Education Lottery officials.

The player cashed in a winning ticket worth $140,000.

“It’s terrific,” he said.

The winner told SC Education Lottery officials that he plays Palmetto Cash 5 every day and has come close before to winning its grand prize.

But this time his luck changed at a Chapin Road Circle K, where he bought a ticket that matched all five numbers drawn on Tuesday, June 4 (17, 21, 25, 28 and 38).

And he says he’s going to keep playing, telling officials, “I have a ticket for tonight.”

The odds of winning a Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668.
