Man turns himself into police custody in connection with killing of Sumter teen

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Sumter Police says a man wanted in connection to the murder of a Sumter teen has turned himself in.
On Thursday afternoon, Ja’Hugh Martin turned himself in to the Sumter Police Department in connection with the killing of Derrick “CD” Wilson, say Sumter PD.
The teen’s body was found on last Thursday, July 25, after his family reported him as missing on earlier that week.
Before the discovery of Wilson’s body, he was last seen getting into a car on Meadow Circle with unknown individuals by a family member.
Investigators say Martin was booked at the local detention center. Another person was arrested in connection with the murder also.
17-year-old Jaylen Hammett, of Manning, was charged with accessory before the fact of murder after investigators arrested him at a home in Clarendon County on Wednesday, July 24, in relation to Wilson’s death.
