Poll: Most renters fear they’ll never afford a home

(CNN)– Most of renters feel like home ownership is not in the cards for them.

According to a new CNN poll, 86% of current renters say they would like to buy a home, but can’t afford one.

Among those, 54% think they will never be able to afford a home.

The housing market is facing an affordability crisis because of surging home prices and high mortgage rates.
