Cyberattack hits blood-donation nonprofit OneBlood

(CNN)– A cyberattack has hit a blood donation non-profit, impacting hundreds of hospitals across the Southeast including South Carolina.

The non-profit OneBlood says a ransomware attack is causing it to operate at a ‘significantly reduced capacity’.

OneBlood says it’s working closely with cybersecurity experts as well as law enforcement.

In the meantime the non-profit is using manual processes to stay operational, which take longer to perform and impact the availability of blood products.
