Local Living: Windows to New Worlds, State Fair searching for exhibits entries, First Thursday on Main Street, Meeting Street Artisan Market

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can get two for one at the South Carolina State Museum every Saturday this month.
Museum officials say in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the “Windows to New Worlds” expansion, they will be offering tickets to the planetarium or the 4D theater at two for the price of one.
The South Carolina State Fair is accepting entries for its exhibits.
And competitors from all across South Carolina are invited to submit their entries for a chance to compete at the state’s largest event.
Talent of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to participate and more than 300,000 dollars in premiums will be offered for award-winning exhibits.
Categories for competition include agriculture, art, home and crafts, flowers, livestock, and more.
You can head downtown to take part in the First Thursday on Main Street event. It goes from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. August 1.
From the 1200 block, all the way to the 1700 block with the gallery at city hall, you’ll find a mix of art, music, food, and drinks. It’s free to attend.
You can head to West Columbia’s Meeting Street Artisan Market on Thursday, Aug. 1. It is open until 8 p.m. at the Interactive Art Park on Meeting Street.
You and the family can shop for handmade items with local artisans. Enjoy some food, drinks, and more. It’s also free to attend.
