Local Living: “Kickin’ It In The Vista”, “Groovin’ in the Garden”, Jailbreak 5K Run and Walk, Clear the Shelter event

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the Congaree Vista Guild is hosting “Kickin’ It In The Vista” on Friday night, Aug. 2.

It runs until 8 p.m. this evening at Columbia Craft on Greene Street.

The free Summer concert will take place in conjunction with Saturday’s soccer match with Liverpool FC and Manchester United at Williams-Brice stadium.

The line-up includes Eric Paslay and The Vegabonds.

 

The City of Columbia’s Groovin’ in the Garden event has been moved to the Leroy Moss Community Center in Hyatt Park.

Officials say they moved the event due to the threat of inclement weather.

The concert featuring Dante Lewis and Friends runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

 

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department’s foundation’s annual Jailbreak 5K Run and Walk takes place on Saturday, Aug 3.

In the past 17 years, thousand of participants have raced in the event, racing more than 100 thousand dollars.

The race starts at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, Aug. 3, at LCSD’s headquarters on Gibson Road.

 

Columbia Animal Services is hosting a Clear the Shelter event.

The free adoption special is going on now though the end of the month.

To find your new fur-ever friend you can head to the shelter located at 127 Humane Lane.

They’re open Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
