Orangeburg County list sand, sandbag available sites

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– As Debby is expected to make landfall in South Carolina and impact many parts of the Palmetto with heavy rain, Orangeburg County is helping residents prepare.
The County of Orangeburg is giving away sand, and sandbags.
According to Orangeburg County Fire District, people will have to take their own shovels to fill the sandbags themselves.
Supplies are limited and only available as they last.
Availability Times:
- Monday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Proper Sandbag Filling Directions:
- Fill bags halfway with sand to allow for proper stacking and coverage.
- Fold the top of the bag over and tuck it in when placing to prevent spillage.
- Lay the bags flat, ensuring they are tightly packed together in a pyramid formation for maximum protection.
