Boil Water Advisory issued for portion of City of West Columbia Water customers
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A boil water advisory has been issued in portions of the city due to a water main break, according to officials.
All of the following areas are affected:
- Janna Court
- Chadwood Circle
- Berry Drive
- Plum Court
- Cherry Grove Drive
- Appletree Lane
- Orchard Hill Drive
- Vineyard Court
- Melon Drive
- Kristen Court
- Peach Blossom Court
- 642 – 821 Laurel Road
- 1001 Backman Road
Water customers in those areas who have lost water pressure or experienced cloudy water or sediment in their water are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes, said the city.
Customers experiencing sediment in the water are advised to flush the water until no sediment appears and then continue to boil their water for at least one full minute.
The City of West Columbia said the boil water advisory will remain in effect until it is lifted and customers can check the City of West Columbia’s website at www.westcolumbiasc.gov for updates on the advisory.
