Orangeburg County collision kills one, leaves another injured

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle collision that left one dead and another injured in Orangeburg County.

According to highway patrol the collision took place around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug 9.

A 2008 Honda Accord was traveling south on Highway 301 near Homestead Road, about 7 miles north of Bowman when it traveled off the right side of the road.

Troopers say the car hit a ditch and then a utility pole before overturning.

There were two people in the car. One of them died from injuries received during the collision.

The second person was taken to the hospital for their injuries. There is no word on their condition.
