RCSD: 14-year-old student brought gun on school grounds

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies say a 14-year-old student brought a gun to school.

Investigators say the Westwood High School student is charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and possession of a weapon by a minor.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies say around 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, the school resource officer was notified that the student had a loaded gun in book bag.

According to officials, the student was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
