Local Living: Parent Café Session, SC Virtual Charter School’s back-to-school bash, Koger Center for the Arts 35th birthday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the City of Columbia Office of Violent Crime Prevention is hosting a “Parent Café Session” on Thursday, Aug. 15.
It’s from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lorick Park. The event will teach parents gun safety tips to keep their families safe.
There will also be raffles and drinks.
The South Carolina Virtual Charter School is hosting a back-to-school bash this Friday, August 16.
It will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Segra Park.
The event will bring together the school’s more than 2,500 students statewide.
Kids can take school photos, enjoy several games and much more.
The Koger Center for the Arts is celebrating its 35th birthday this month.
There will be a free birthday party on Thursday, August 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
People can enjoy cake, drinks, music, and behind-the-scenes looks of the building.
The event is a celebration for everyone who helped the Koger Center become a staple in the South Carolina arts landscape.
