Parent charged after taking firearm into Keenan High

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A parent in the Midlands has been arrested after taking a firearm into a high school on Wednesday morning, says RCSD.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department says, around 10:30 a.m. the SRO at Keenan High School responded to the front door in reference to a parent that had passed through the metal detector with a firearm on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
The SRO secured the firearm and detained Patricia Jones Javins.
Jones was charged with carrying a weapon on school property and taken to the Alvin S Glenn Detention Center.
