Richland County deputies arrest man who barricaded himself in apartment complex

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies have arrested a man who barricaded himself in an apartment complex on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Authorities say they responded to the Grove at St. Andrews Apartment Complex on Zimalcrest Drive to take a report of a strong armed robbery on Tuesday, Aug. 13, when Ahkeevius Taylor robbed the victim of a firearm.

When deputies saw Taylor in the apartment shots were fired and he barricaded himself inside. He was later arrested and found to have two stolen guns.

One of the firearms was the gun that had been stolen from the victim/caller during the robbery the day prior, and the other gun was stolen out of Newberry County.

Taylor faces strong arm robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a stolen firearm charge, and will be held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
