FAFSA forms delayed for second year in a row

(CNN) — The Education Department announced that availability of the FAFSA form would be delayed for a second year in a row, after months of last-ditch troubleshooting didn’t do the trick.

Some problems include the fact that the application locked students out, returned inaccurate aid calculations and severely tied up the enrollment process that plays out in the spring, when colleges typically notify students how much they need to pay.

As recently as last month, the department was still running into problems with 2024-25 applications.
Progress has made college administrators work through the summer as well as students who have had to postpone enrolling altogether.
