SC State Marching Band to compete in ‘Battle of the Bands’

South Carolina State University has announced that its Marching 101 Band, founded in 1918, will be competing in the 2025 Honda Battle of the Bands.

Winners are decided through voting. If you’d like to vote for their marching band, SC State asks participants to follow these instructions:

  1. Visit the Battle of the Bands website.
  2. Scroll down to “Vote for the ‘25 lineup now.”
  3. Click on the “VOTE” button.
  4. Select “South Carolina State University.”
  5. Click “Submit.”

The band “provides the soundtrack to the HBCU experience at South Carolina State University. Whether it’s at Bulldog football games, parades or other campus events,” the school stated.

Participants can vote for the Marching 101 multiple times every day. Voting ends on Aug. 15.
