National Immunization Awareness Month

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– August is National Immunization Awareness Month.

In recognition of that the State Department of Health and Prisma Health are stressing the importance of vaccinations for people of all ages.

Vaccines are safe and effective at preventing potentially life-threatening diseases in children and adults.

This year’s event focuses on the human papillomavirus vaccination, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends for 11 to 12 years old.
