OpenAI says Iranian group used ChatGPT to try to influence U.S. election

(CNN)– OpenAI reports it discovered and disrupted an Iranian influence campaign.

Open AI says the Iranian group has used its ChatGPT to generate misinformation to be spread online.

Some of the content was related to the U.S. presidential election, the Olympics, and the war in Gaza.

OpenAI banned several ChatGPT accounts using the artificial intelligence chatbot that were associated with the Iranian efforts.

The company says the Iranian attempt did not seem to get much audience engagement before they were deactivated.
