LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist and pedestrian are dead after a collision in Lexington County on Tuesday evening.

Highway Patrol says the collision happened around 10 p.m. on Kyzer Road.

A 2006 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling west on Kyzer Road when it hit a pedestrian crossing the road, before hitting a wall and tree.

Troopers say the passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital with injuries.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher the victim wad identified as Kevin Scott Collins, 63, of Lexington.

Coroner Fisher says Collins was crossing Kyzer Road after checking his mailbox when he was hit a motorcycle that was driven by a 17-year-old.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
