COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can attend a “Morning of Remembrance” in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11.

The 14th annual ceremony will honor military service members, first responders, and their families on September 11, at 8 a.m.

There will also be a “Tunnel to Towers” 5k run on September 13, at 6 a.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Keep the Midlands Beautiful is looking for volunteers to help clean up the trash on Lake Murray.

The Lake Murray sweep starts on Saturday, September 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Supplies, t-shirts, and prizes will be provided. You must register by September 6.

You can stop by your local McDonald’s to help raise funds for teachers in the Palmetto State.

From now until Friday, McDonald’s is raising funds for local schools, and school districts through their Fries for School Supplies initiative.

You can stop by a location and order any size fry to help the fundraiser.

The company says 10% of sales will go back to local schools from the week.
