Boil water advisory repealed for portions of Orangeburg, say officials

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– The boil water advisory that was put in place for a portion of Orangeburg has been repealed.
According to city officials, following a flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the Orangeburg Department of Public Utilities Water Division.
The city says the results of the samples indicated that the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– Bull Swamp Rural Water Company is advising customers as a precautionary measure to boil their water, according to the City of Orangeburg.
Customers are advised to boil their water for at least one full minute prior to cooking and drinking.
Also, any water customers near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to cooking or drinking.
The advisory is in place due to a a six-inch water main break at the Bull Swamp Water District.
Officials say the Orangeburg DPU Water Division is working to correct the problem for BSRWC.
