Sumter County deputies launch investigation after Tuesday night shooting

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation on Tuesday night after a shooting in the Dalzell Community, said deputies.

Deputies said one victim was found dead at the scene and another was taken to Prisma Toumey after the September 3, shooting.

The victim that was taken to the hospital is expected to make a full recovery.

Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis described the incident as a suspicious death.

Investigators said the name of the deceased victim will be released when the family has been notified.
