$1.3 billion collected in overdue taxes

(CNN)– The Internal Revenue Service says it’s collected nearly 1.3 billion dollars in overdue taxes from wealthy households since last Fall.

It says it’s result of a ramp-up of enforcement efforts funded by the Democrat-backed Inflation Reduction Act that Congress passed two years ago.

The Biden Administration has said increased enforcement actions will only target corporations and wealthy taxpayers who earn more than 400 thousand dollars a year.

The Trump campaign has claimed the 80 billion dollar expansion of the IRS is an example of reckless spending that’s taken place under President Biden.
