Local Living: “Morning of Remembrance”, “Tunnel to Towers”, Keep the Midlands Beautiful, Meeting Street Music Festival

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can attend a “Morning of Remembrance” in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11.

The 14th annual ceremony will honor military service members, first responders, and their families on September 11, at 8 a.m.

There will also be a “Tunnel to Towers” 5k run on September 13, at 6 a.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

 

Keep the Midlands Beautiful is looking for volunteers to help clean up the trash on Lake Murray.

The Lake Murray Sweep starts on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Supplies, t-shirts, and prizes will be provided. You must register by September 6.

 

The second annual Meeting Street Music Festival kicks off today, Friday, Sept. 6, in West Columbia.

The event will showcase an incredible lineup of multiple genres of music from nationally and regionally renowned artists.

It takes place on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Riverwalk Amphitheater. Admission is free.
