Lexington County coroner identifies person dead after motorcycle collision

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the person who died after a motorcycle vs vehicle collision, said officials.

The collision happened on September 8, around 4:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Sunset Blvd in the West Columbia area.

According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, the person was identified as Jose Antonio Colon, 59, of West Columbia.

Officials said Colon was traveling westbound on Sunset Blvd when a vehicle turned in front of him.

Colon was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained in the collision.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and West Columbia Police Department are continuing to investigate.
