Department of Public Safety investigates deadly crash

Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly accident that took place just before 5pm Wednesday evening. According to Lance Corporal Brittany Glover, a single car crash took place in the 4000 block of Fish Hatchery Road at the intersection of Kimmery Road involving a pick up truck.

The department says the Ford F-150 was traveling north along Fish Hatchery Road when the authorities say the driver ran off of the left side of the road and struck a highway sign and then a tree. SCHP officials say the unidentified driver of that pick up truck was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
