Aldi is raising its starting pay amid a hiring surge
(CNN)– Grocery chain Aldi is raising its starting pay for employees.
Aldi says the new starting wage will be $18 an hour for workers in their stores and $23 an hour for warehouse workers.
Employees who work at least 30 hours a week will also have access to health insurance and paid time off.
Aldi is in the midst of a hiring surge amid continued growth.
It says it is looking to hire more than 13 thousand employees for new stores openings and to prepare for the holiday season.
